Glossary
AGL (above ground level)
Height above the ground, as opposed to above sea level. The map in the app shows the height of a Remote ID Pro in metres AGL.
AirDetect sensors
AirPlate’s drone sensors. The AirDetect Pro Long Range, AirDetect Long Range and AirDetect Pro are fixed, on a mast or roof; the AirDetect Go is handheld. See Sensors.
Alarm zone
An area you draw in the app. A drone detected inside it triggers an alert. See Alarm Zones.
Direct Remote ID (DRI)
Remote ID broadcast straight from the drone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, which phones and sensors nearby can receive. See Direct Remote ID.
DJI DroneID
The radio signal older DJI drones send, which identifies the drone and its position. The AirDetect Pro and AirDetect Pro Long Range pick it up. See What it detects.
Drone certificate ID
The licence to fly that a pilot gets from the aviation authority. You can add it to a user in the app. See Edit a user.
EU class
The class (C0 to C6) an EU drone is marked with. See Drones.
GNSS
Satellite positioning: GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and others. The Remote ID Pro has its own GNSS antenna. See Positioning.
HDOP and VDOP
Horizontal and vertical dilution of precision: how much the position of the satellites in the sky weakens a GNSS position. Lower is better.
LTE-M
The low-power mobile network the Remote ID Pro’s SIM card uses for Network Remote ID.
MAVLink port
The 6-pin port on the side of the Remote ID Pro, for a flight controller. It can also power the Remote ID Pro from the drone. See Charging in flight.
Network Remote ID (NRI)
Remote ID sent over the mobile network to AirPlate, so you can follow the drone live in the app. See Network Remote ID.
Operator ID
The registration number a drone operator gets from their national aviation authority. Remote ID transmits it. See Operator ID.
Remote ID
The rule that drones identify themselves while flying, with their serial number, position, height and the Operator ID. In the EU, it applies to drones over 250 grams.
RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ and SNR
Measures of mobile signal strength and quality, logged by the Remote ID Pro. See Logged parameters.
TOTP (2FA)
Time-based one-time passwords: the 6-digit codes from an authenticator app, used for two-factor authentication. See Two-Factor Authentication.
UA category
The category of a drone operation: Open, Specific or Certified. See Edit a Remote ID Pro.
UAS ID
The identity a drone transmits with Remote ID: the drone’s serial number, or the Remote ID Pro’s own when no drone is attached to it. See Edit a Remote ID Pro.
Zero island
Latitude 0, longitude 0, off the coast of Africa: where a Remote ID Pro shows up before it has a GPS position. See Zero island.
